Fundus examination is a procedure to examine the back of the eye for signs of damage or disease using an ophthalmoscope.

*Detectable diseases include: glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and other retinal and optic nerve disorders.
